Semana Santa Estepa

Seville enchants

The Town Council commissioned the barracks. An inscription on the lintel over the door reveals that construction works began in 1577 during the reign of King Felipe II.

This is an old religious building which, given its construction characteristics, can be dated to the late 15th century.

However, its original style is half hidden due to the alterations it underwent during the 18th century, and also due to the changes made at the end of the 1970s.

This 18th-century Church (1745-1757) owes its name to the image of the Holy Christ of Mercy that presides over the high altar.

The Our Lady of Victory Parish Church is located in the historic centre of Arahal, a few minutes away from other important religious monuments, such as the San Roque Church, the Our Lady of the Rosary Convent and the Blessed True Cross Church.

This palatial home belonged to the Marquises of La Garantía and is currently owned by Mr. Cárdenas Osuna and Mr. Jiménez Alfaro.

The façade is made of exposed brick, with an elegant 18th century doorway with the coat of arms of the marquisate at the centre. The doorway stands out for its beautiful proportions, design and exquisite workmanship.

The Mañara Palace is a palatial house in a basically Renaissance style. The illustrious philanthropist Miguel de Mañara, promoter and benefactor of the Brotherhood and Charity Hospital, was born in the palace. It is located in the centre of the former aljama or old Jewish quarter of Seville, which included the area between the Alcazar and the vicinity of the Carmona Gate.

The construction of the building took place in three different periods. The first was between the 14th and 15th centuries, when a Mudejar church was built with three naves, a polygonal apse and a façade-tower. The second stage began in 1538, when part of the previous work was demolished and the construction of a new Renaissance-type temple began, but this was never completed.
