Celebrations in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario

The festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora del Rosario begin the last week of September, with musical performances in the Salón de la Hermandad (Hall of the Brotherhood), Proclamation of the Festivities, Coronation of the Queens, Ladies and Pages of the Court of Honour and Parade of Floats of the Flower Offering (known as La Fiesta de la Flor) through the streets of the town.

Later, in the first week of October, the Santo Rosario, a solemn Procession of the Brotherhood and the "Monday" Procession take place.

These festivities have been declared of National Tourist Interest in Andalusia.

Special mention should be made of how the entire official route of both processions is decorated with paper flower arches following an ancient custom that dates back several centuries and has been passed down from parents to children from generation to generation.

Some emotional moments of the solemn procession are the exit from and entrance to the church through the narrow door with the titanic effort of the Cuadrilla de Hermanos Costaleros (the brotherhood carrying the image), the petalá (throwing of petals) and release of doves in the old street of the Church, and the cohetá (fireworks) of the Candelero (image). The Virgin is paraded in the company of the civil and military authorities, fifty or so sisters wearing the classic Spanish mantilla (shawl), the court of honour of the festival and guest brotherhoods.

The following Monday, the Virgin goes out in procession again, ending with a great firework display in the church square.
