Church of Santa María de la Encarnación

This church is of the tower-façade type, of which there are several in the diocese of Seville. It attracts attention because of its originality, specifically because of the marked contrast between the whiteness of its walls and the decorative stone and brick motifs on the main doorway and other parts of the façade.

San Gil Church

A rectangular church with three naves divided into five sections, separated by pointed arches on pillars. It is in 15th-century Mudejar-style, although it was renovated and extended in the second half of the 18th century. The Sacramental Chapel from around 1727 is transversely attached to the left side of the building. The image of the Christ of Health is venerated in this chapel.

Our charming little chapel, dating from the first half of the 16th century, was built on stone foundations on a flat-topped hill north of the cabañal, about sixty yards from the old road and next to the site of a medieval pilgrim's cross.

The fountain is located at the entrance of the village, on the road to Ronquillo and Castilblanco de los Arroyos. The site has been embellished with flowers, olive trees and benches. It was built by the local sculptor, Jaime Mate Gallego.

Our Lady of the Rosary Convent in Arahal, popularly known as the Las Monjas Convent (the nuns), was a cloistered convent that belonged to the Reverend Mothers of the Dominican Order until June 2014. Since then, it is occupied by the Order of the Franciscan Brothers of the White Cross.

The former Mudejar parish church was destroyed by the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Only the baroque Tabernacle and tower remain. In 1776, the current neoclassical Church was built in its place, under the directions of the architect Lucas Cintora.

Shrine to The Calvario

This small shrine from the sixteenth or seventeenth century was likely built where a wayside cross was located –a common practice in those days. 

Inside is the 16th-century image of the Our Lady of Sorrows. In the 18th century, the Chapel was covered with a ribbed vault, which is still preserved.
