El Priorato is a hamlet under the jurisdiction of the Town Council of Lora del Río. It is located about 10 km from Lora del Río. El Priorato was a colonisation settlement created in the late 1960s and early 1970s when the former IRYDA (Institute of Agrarian Reform and Development) subdivided lands in many places in Spain, including the Guadalquivir Valley. Although its history is somewhat irrelevant, with the inhabitants focusing on daily survival, stories about people who set an example for the entire community have increasingly become known.

The landscape and its peaceful environment are its most famous monuments. The people who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of the city will find here a haven. The network of hiking trails in the area leads to the mountain or river in just over 30 minutes on foot. The fertile land is given over to fruit trees and cereal crops. The courtyards full of pots and trees that can be visited are truly impressive.

The Fair and Festivals held in honour of the patron saint, San Isidoro Labrador, on the weekend closest to 15 May is remarkable. The pilgrimage takes place one week prior. The Church with the image of the patron saint, San Isidro, is in the Plaza Mayor and may be visited.
Ideal for hiking in winter and spring.
