Victoria Church

This 16th-century building was the conventual church of the Paulist Fathers. Nowadays, due to continual renovation works carried out in the 17th and 18th centuries and, especially in recent times (1965-1974), only the apse and the transept have been preserved. The small chapel to Saint Francis of Paola with baroque plasterwork inside has also been conserved.

The chapel is a construction built in several stages. Its oldest part is in the Mudejar style, with three naves, separated by pointed arches framed by an alfiz and a chancel roofed by a hemispherical dome decorated with murals.

San Miguel Church

The temple is somewhat removed from the town’s walled historic quarters. When it was built in the 15th century, it was meant to be a shrine to the Archangel St Michael.

Although it has a core area that is Mudejar, it has undergone multiple renovations, especially in the 18th century, when the choir’s side chapels were added.

San Sebastián Parish Church

The origin of the San Sebastián Church is unclear, although it was already mentioned in 1498.

The temple, which has a basilica plan, was built in the 16th century according to the design of the Genoese architect Vicente Boyo.

It consists of one nave and two aisles, as well as side chapels. Worthy of note are the pulpit, the high altar and the portals.

Santiago is profoundly linked to Utrera’s origin as a city. The original church that stood opposite the Castle was the heart of present-day Utrera. According to the chronicles, the primitive church of Santiago was looted in the second half of the 14th century by Mohamed V of Granada.

San Bartolomé Chapel

Commonly known as the Chapel of Jesus the Nazarene, it was part of the Dominican convent of Saint Bartholomew, funded by Bartolomé López de Marchena. The convent, which was founded in 1542, was dedicated to the care and well-being of the body and spirit. The chapel was built in the 17th century and underwent extensive renovations in the second half of the 18th century.
