San Pedro Park

San Pedro was a former resting place for cattle now turned into a recreational area, where the Alanís Pilgrimage is held every year. It is located within the Sierra Norte Natural Park.

Facilities in the Park include barbecues, tables and benches, toilets, playground, fountains and garbage bins, a camping area and Los Carros Path.

Los Coscojales, located within the Sierra Norte Natural Park, is a karst area with a gentle, hilly landscape and limestone substrata bored by filtrations and underground water that have produced sinkholes.

Sierra de Alanís

The Sierra de Alanís is located to the northeast of the province of Seville, bordering the provinces of Cordoba and Badajoz. The entire area belongs to the municipality of Alanís. Given its location in predominantly mountainous territory, between the Western Sierra Morena and the Bembézar-Bajo Guadiato region, it has certain mountain characteristics.

Huéznar Falls

The Huéznar Falls are to be found in the upper course of the Rivera del Huéznar, near its source. In this area, the river runs under dense gallery forests, forming pools and descending over small steps in the form of waterfalls, giving rise to travertine or tufa limestone cascades due to the precipitation of calcium carbonate contained in the water on the rocks or plants.

The Cerro del Hierro, one of the best known and most frequently visited areas of the Sierra Morena Natural Park, is an old open-cast mining site located between the municipalities of San Nicolás del Puerto and Constantina, the southern part of the park belonging to the latter.

Remains from the Neolithic, Low Roman Empire and Chalcolithic periods have been found in this important archaeological site. There are over 182 places with rock art in this 520-meters cave.

The central area of the Seville’s Sierra Morena is drained by the Rivera del Huéznar, one of the three main rivers of the extensive hydrographic network of this mountain range, and the only one that flows entirely within the province, from its source in San Nicolás del Puerto to its mouth in the Guadalquivir, in the municipality of Tocina.
