Ethnological

The Museum of Popular Arts and Customs of Seville, created in 1972, is a museum dedicated to Andalusian ethnological heritage, both tangible and intangible, in the rooms of which there are displayed objects and utensils that document the customs, knowledge and ways of life typical of the traditional culture of the area.

The Casa de la Sierra, where the Municipal Tourist Office and Ethnological Museum are located, is one of Castilblanco de los Arroyos' most emblematic buildings. It was built in 1923 by Rafael Amorín Lazo and belonged to a wealthy family from that period.

The Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum of La Puebla de Cazalla is located at the Hacienda la Fuenlonguilla. It used to be a traditional olive oil mill that was operational between the 19th and 20th centuries. Its floor plan is practically square with two differentiated areas.

The George Bonsor House-Museum in Mairena del Alcor is located in the Mudejar-style “Castillo de la Luna” purchased by the archaeologist George Bonsor Saint-Martin in 1902 as his home and museum.

The Ciudad de Carmon Museum provides insight into the history of Carmona from its origins (a million years ago) to the present-day. It features archaeological remains from the Palaeolithic, Chalcolithic, Turdetan and Andalusí periods. However, the most important are the Tartessian (Saltillo Vessels), and Roman remains. Also noteworthy is the pictorial collection with works by J.

Conceived as a great centre for exhibitions and other artistic expressions, where the permanent collection rooms on the history of Alcalá coexist with the temporary exhibitions that allow us to gain an insight into the contemporary panorama of the plastic arts.

The large number of everyday objects in this unique space takes us back to the way our ancestors lived. The perfect replica of a typical grocery store is striking. Another interesting item is the truck that saved the paintings of the Prado Museum during the Civil War.
