Cotidiana Vitae- Roman Daily Life Theme Centre

The "Cotidiana Vitae" Theme Centre recreates different parts of the Roman city of Italica and allows visitors to travel back in time to learn about the lives and customs of the Roman Empire. The visit allows visitors to travel to the second century A.D. and to walk through different public and private areas of a Roman city.

The building has 2 floors. On the ground floor are the public areas and on the first floor the private areas, the domus or family house. The guided tour begins with some explanatory panels that situate visitors, first in the Roman Baetica, and then in the province of Seville, to take them to the city of Italica in the Imperial period.

The visit continues with a tour of the public areas: a Roman street of the period with its stalls, stands, tavern and baths in which a virtual tour is offered by means of the audio-visual presentation 'The Roman Baths'. Then, visitors go up to the second floor where there is a faithful recreation of a Roman domus or family house; first they visit the courtyard, around which the main rooms are distributed: kitchen, bedroom and dining room, where the tour ends.

The tours are always guided, in shifts within the standard opening hours or on demand for pre-arranged group visits. The Centre also has an extensive programme of activities available to school groups, which includes a visit to the Centre, as well as educational workshops on various aspects of daily life in the Roman world. The activities for arranged visits and school groups can be complemented with guided visits to other local monuments, such as the Italica Archaeological Site or the San Isidoro del Campo Monumental Complex.
