Seville enchants

The current La Algaba Bullring was opened in 1991. It was reopened in 1996 with a bullfighting festival in which the renowned bullfighters Curro Romero, José Luis Parada, José Antonio Campuzano, Pepe Luis Vázquez and the apprentice bullfighter, José Manuel Rodríguez, performed. Years later, Curro Romero would also retire in this bullring at the end of the 2000 season.

Alcalá del Río’s bullring, built in 1950 to replace the traditional wagon ring, is classified as a third-tier bullring.

The bullring was reopened in February 2015 following its renovation. The city recovered this space not only for bullfights, which has a longstanding tradition in Alcalá del Río but also as a venue for other cultural events.

In addition to breeding fighting bulls, the Dehesa Yerbabuena farm has been carrying out bull-related tourist activities for more than ten years and is one of the pioneers in these activities in the province of Seville.

It also carries out other activities, although to a lesser extent, such as agriculture and the breeding of tame cattle and horses.

A stone's throw from Seville, in the region of Utrera, the legendary Murube cattle graze on a farm of 850 hectares (500 hectares of dehesa for the bull and 350 hectares of wheat, sunflower and oats).
