Seville enchants

The River Guadiamar rises at El Castillo de las Guardas and an affluent on the right bank of the River in the Doñana marshland.

The bridge commonly known as “Dragon Bridge” was built as part of Alcalá de Guadaíra’s ring road, which links the A-92 motorway (Seville-Almería) with the A-392 Alcalá-Dos Hermanas road.

The Shrine to San Roque is nestled in Pinares de Oromana at Cerro del Calvario, just south of the city and close to the River Guadaíra.

It houses a 16th-century statue of Our Lady of Bethlehem, and a 17th-century image of St Rocco. There is also a painting attributed to the 18th-century Sevillian School.

Aguadulce's Renaissance Stone Bridge connected the regions of Estepa and Osuna.

This five-span bridge over the River Blanco dates back to 1596. It was built to prevent the people of Aguadulce from wading across the river at times of flooding with the inevitable drownings.

Jesús Nazareno Bridge crosses the Guadaíra river on the stretch closest to the old town, where several roads converge since medieval times.

It is popularly known as the Roman Bridge because its construction, dated post 15th century, was built in a place where there is proof of an existing Roman structure, although it is not externally visible.

The central area of the Seville’s Sierra Morena is drained by the Rivera del Huéznar, one of the three main rivers of the extensive hydrographic network of this mountain range, and the only one that flows entirely within the province, from its source in San Nicolás del Puerto to its mouth in the Guadalquivir, in the municipality of Tocina.

The Sustainable Tourism Education Centre “Riberas del Guadaíra” is located near the riverside park and the River Guadaíra. The centre was created as an educational facility for acquiring values in sustainability, solidarity, awareness and respect for the environment by working with fundamental elements such as local traditions and the immediate environment.
