This meadowland is located within the central section of the municipality, south of the town. It borders to the north with Rancho de las Alcabalas, to the southwest with Juncal and to the east with Saltillo.

The only existing settlement in this area is the Rancho del Juncal. The meadowland covers an extension of around 11 hectares, at the most 1.000m long and 250m wide. It is formed by flat, clay-loam plains. This dry meadowland is bestrewn with asphodel on a background of white wagtails. There are three low-lying, semi-parallel, floodplain meadows scattered with daffodils, daisies, and fescues, which are connected by semi-shrub hedges and extensive closed forest of white poplars. The vegetation cover is formed by poplars, elms, tamarisks, hawthorn, wild olive, eucalyptus, holm, cork and kermes oak, hediondo or Mediterranean stinkbush, laurustinus, mastic, palm heart, oleander, bulrush, reed, asparagus etc.

Among the fauna, the most important are kestrel, ferret, rabbit, lapwing, nightingale, goldfinch, mallard, common moorhen, European turtle, frog, and common toad.

Cultural highlights include the 20th century Alcabalas Bridge (1950s), Rancho de las Alcabalas, Camino de Morón, Vereda de Mariserrana, and Hispano-Roman site of Juncal.
