To help visitors understand the rich history of La Algaba, the Tourism department of the City Council organises guided tours at the “El Cielo Mudejar de La Algaba” Interpretation Centre located in the Tower of the Guzmanes.

Under this suggestive and poetic title, the monumental Tower of the Guzmanes offers an educational program comprised of 3D audiovisual projections, exhibits and information panels that help to interpret the cultural dimension of this famous building and its environment. Historical characters such as Don Juan de Guzmán or Alí, the Moor who erected the building, and also fictional ones, such as Manguz, a ghost, come to life to interact with visitors creating a fun, attractive and surprising heritage experience.

The tour is spread across the four floors. The first floor provides insight into how the tower was built, valuable documents, and armour or shields with the coat of arms of the Guzmanes, among others. The second floor recreates the rooms where the family lived, and a life-size picture “comes to life” to tell the story of the lineage of the Guzmanes. On the third floor is the parade ground, with all kinds of spears, shields and crossbows. The last one is the crenellated watchtower, where visitors can contemplate the Tower’s defensive elements.

The Centre is a testament to the town’s commitment to promoting policies that foster culture and tourism at a local and regional level. It has already become the main reference point for tourists visiting this town.
