The George Bonsor House-Museum in Mairena del Alcor is located in the Mudejar-style “Castillo de la Luna” purchased by the archaeologist George Bonsor Saint-Martin in 1902 as his home and museum.

The architectural elements, typical of the neo-Islamic style favoured by romantic travellers, melds with the eclectic Andalusian garden. The exhibition, designed by the owner, consists of archaeological and ethnographic objects, as well as a vast photographic and documentary collection.

The archaeological objects from his excavations shared space with ethnographic collections, paintings and historical weapons and an extensive personal library and archive.

Such was the importance of the institution that it was recommended by the Tourism Section of 1929 Ibero-American Exhibition in Seville. Tourists from across the world could visit the monument thanks to innovative heritage management tools. Visits to the monument were booked through the leading travel agencies of the time.

No es un comentario, pero me gustaría saber a donde me tengo que dirigir para solicitar una foto de J. Bonsor y el permiso para publicarla en un libro que estoy elaborando.
Gracias
