The monument in honour of the Our Lady of El Rocío, located at Paseo Juan de Dios Soto, was unveiled on 15 January 1978, with the blessing of the auxiliary bishop of Seville, Rafael Bellido Caro.

The image was made in the workshops of Cerámica de Santa Ana, in Seville’s Triana neighbourhood. The monument commemorates the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Confraternity of Our Lady of El Rocío in Gines. Surrounded by flowers, the statue of the Virgin Mary is a year-round reminder of the local people’s devotion to Our Lady of El Rocío. They see in this monument the Pilgrimage to El Rocío without leaving Gines.

The monument, a significant landmark of the town, is complemented with four tiles depicting different moments of the Pilgrimage.
