This is a free contest where Flamenco and Holy Week traditions come together. It is organized by Alcalá de Guadaíra’s Town Hall Delegation of Major Festivals and Events and in recent years it has become one of the most eagerly awaited occasions prior to Easter.

Music and other cultural representations take on special relevance at Eastertime. In Alcalá, you can enjoy listening to anything from the popular saeta, flamenco genre, or saeta pregón (opening speeches at public events), or flamenco song, as these are very popular and the cantaores or flamenco singers command the art with great perfection and profound sentiment.
