Festival Flamenco "Joaquín el de la Paula"

250
2

Celebrated for more than 25 years, this festival owes its name to the popular cantaor (flamenco singer) Joaquín Fernández Franco in honour of the art  of Joaquín el de la Paula,  born in Alcalá de Guadaíra and creator of the soleá alcalareña, the soleá flamenco genre specific to this town.

The Joaquín el de la Paula Flamenco Festival has been held at different venues over the years. It was traditionally organized at the Castle Precinct, due to its connection with the singer and person who gave the festival its name.
