The Washington Irving Route follows the footprints of the American romantic writer and diplomat in 1829, fascinated by the richness and the exoticism of the Hispano-Arabic civilisation together with his admiration for the figure of Christopher Columbus and the Discovery of America.

Retracing Cervantes’ footsteps in the province is an excellent opportunity to discover the rich heritage of the Sevillian towns he visited as an officer for the King and his Royal Treasury. A treasure that was perpetuated through some of the pieces he wrote.

Sevilla

After leaving the church of Santiago de Alcalá de Guadaíra, admiring the sight of the old late 19th century British factory of Adufe and following the flow of the river, you arrive in Seville.

The history of the Guardiola House dates back to the 19th century, at the height of Sevillian Romanticism, when Mr Andrés Parladé y Sánchez de Quirós, Count of Aguiar, Regional Delegate for Fine Arts and Delegate-Director of the Excavations of Italica, ordered it to be built.

The Navigation Pavilion is owned by Empresa Pública de Gestión de Activos, S.A. (EPGASA), which depends on the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge, Business and Universities of the Andalusian Regional Government. It is set up as an Exhibition Centre and an Events Space for cultural management.

The Chamber of Commerce of Seville is located in the centre of Seville next to the cathedral, an area of tourist and commercial interest. The Global Business Chamber is where the Chamber usually carries out its work in collaboration with businesspersons and entrepreneurs, thus combining the added value of brand and experience.
