Semana Santa Estepa

Seville enchants

This nature classroom is located in Natural Reserve.

The Observatory is located in the Natural Reserve opposite the Gobierno Lagoon.

Its main goal is to make it easier for visitors to watch the wildlife found in the lagoon and its surroundings and admire the local landscape.

The Zarracatín Lagoon, located 2 km south of El Palmar de Troya, is part of the Utrera Endorheic Complex, along with those of Arjona and La Alcaparrosa.

The “Laguna de Pedreras” is an artificial lake in a former aggregate extraction quarry. This lake is particularly striking as numerous bird species pass and rest here, owing to its proximity to important wetlands such as the Fuente de Piedra lagoon, the Lantejuela Endorheic Complex and the Gosque Nature Reserve in Osuna.

We will start from Calle Bécquer. After about 300m we will reach a roundabout where we take the turning to the right towards Lantejuela along Calle Nuestra Señora del Carmen and, without leaving this street, we will reach Calle Explanada de la Estación, where we will soon have to turn looking for the turning signposted to Lantejuela. We will take the A407.

This Greenway has a Protected Natural Area: the ZIC (Zone of Community Importance) Laguna de Fuente de Piedra.

This lagoon complex, located between Lantejuela and Osuna, is what remains of a vast 600-km2 wetland that extended until Ecija.

These nine lagoons have exceptional value because they are the last lagoons that remain of what used to be one of the most extensive wetlands in the Guadalquivir Depression.
