Semana Santa Estepa

Seville enchants

It is located on Avenida de María Luisa. It was built in 1929. On the occasion of the Ibero-American Exhibition in Seville (1929), it was decided to build what was to be known as the Seville Pavilion, which was made up of two elements that were simultaneously connected: The Casino and the Exhibition Theatre.

The building was inaugurated with a luxurious ceremony on 12 October 1950, Día de la Hispanidad (Day of the Spanish-speaking world, then named Día de la Raza). The Álvarez Quintero Theatre was opened, representing the old aspiration of Torcuato Luca de Tena, who had hired the regionalist architect Aníbal González to build it in a central location.

This is a new stage in Seville dedicated exclusively to singing, dancing and guitar playing in the heart of the Triana district, the historical cradle of flamenco, on the banks of the River Guadalquivir. A unique theatre, a flamenco theatre.

If you want to see a different flamenco show in Seville, you have to visit the Cuna del Flamenco theatre, a hall that mixes the tradition of the best flamenco stages in Seville with a renewed aesthetic adapted to the show it presents: Seducción Flamenca (Flamenco seduction).

With over 160 years of history, the Casino de Osuna opened in 1848. It is considered the oldest social club in the province. Years later, it was expanded to include a theatre in its backyard. The City Council owns today the building, which is under restoration.

This is the oldest building in El Cuervo, from the 18th century. It is located on the right bank of the National Road IV, very close to the provincial border between Seville and Cadiz. The total area of the building is 2,016.40 square metres, of which 1,260 is built-up, and 756.40 are interior courtyards.

The brothers Serafín (1871-1938) and Joaquín (1873-1944) Álvarez Quintero were born in Utrera, where they lived their childhood years.
