Semana Santa Estepa

Seville enchants

This Tower was built by Juan de Guzmán y Torres, the first lord of La Algaba, as a defensive and residential structure, in the style of the fortresses built at that time. It was likely finished in 1446. The date on the marble slab with the coat of arms of the Guzmanes at the entrance appears to confirm this.

The Santa Maria de las Nieves Church was built in the fourteenth century; however, it had to be rebuilt after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake as the naves collapsed. The side chapels on the Epistle side, the choir and the belfry were also built during this period. The architects Pedro de San Martín, Tomás Zambrano and Pedro de Silva carried out the reconstruction.

The building of Mudejar origin sits on a former convent of the Dominican Order. Many significant elements of the former palace remain unchanged, including its structures and original layout, decoration, porticoed courtyards, square shape, openings framed with alfiz, frequently divided by lattice-covered windows, flat decoration, abundant plasterwork, etc.

The original parish church must have been the chapel of La Magdalena, built next to the castle on the hill that today bears its name.

The San Martín Church was built in the Mudéjar style (15th century). Additions were made from the 18th century onwards in newer architectural styles owing to damages caused by the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. The original church was a nave and two aisles, divided by rows of cruciform pillars and pointed arches and semi-circular arches with alfiz.

The Our Lady of Victory Parish Church is located in the historic centre of Arahal, a few minutes away from other important religious monuments, such as the San Roque Church, the Our Lady of the Rosary Convent and the Blessed True Cross Church.

The Palace of the Marquis of Algaba - Mudejar Centre offers tourists to discover one of the great noble palaces of Seville, nestled in the heart of Feria street. Restored between 1998 and 2002, the building, a magnificent Renaissance palatial residence of great architectural value (15th century), has an imposing Mudejar Gothic façade.
